Rachel Stein

Rachel SteinSays Rachel: “After getting my degree in Biochemistry in 2002 and working in research for two years, I decided that my real interest was in improving science education for all students and increasing preparation for STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) careers for historically underrepresented groups.  The ScienceBridge Fellowship will help me as a teacher apply authentic, real-life concepts of chemistry in the classroom to enhance student learning. Research shows that innovative curriculum increases student understanding of and interest in science. Furthermore, by partnering with a doctoral student, I will have a partner to collaborate with on a regular basis. My students will  also be able to speak with their classmates about their learning experiences which will help to promote science throughout the school community.”
