Socrates Project: Releasing stored solar energy within pond scum: chemically creating biodiesel from algal lipids

Janelle Javier is a biology teacher at Lincoln High School. This position has brought many great challenges such as being able to make biology, and science in general, accessible and fun for a lower performing group of students.

In her spare time, she is also an active member of a Brasilian Martial Arts group which constantly does activities for the greater San Diego community. Her current goal is bringing a Physiology/Anatomy course to Lincoln High.
